Most "romantic getaways near Austin" lists send you to a wine room in Fredericksburg or a chain hotel in San Antonio. Skip both. The simplest version of a great weekend for two is a riverside cabin, a fire pit, and water clear enough to see the bottom.
The cabin
A Safari Cabin sleeps up to nine but works beautifully for two — high ceilings, real bed, A/C, and the firepit option for late-night talks. Glamping Cabins are smaller and even cozier.

The day
Add a private cabana for your stay and you've got shade, a grill and a private bit of riverbank. Float together with an Ultimate Wristband, or rent a tandem kayak and paddle until you find a quiet pool. Overnight guests get 25% off day rental add-ons.

The evening
Bring steaks for the BBQ pit, then move to the firepit when the stars come out. The property is dark enough that you'll actually see them — something most Austin neighborhoods can't promise.
A note on timing
Weekdays are dramatically quieter than weekends, and Safari Cabins are $99/night on weekdays through June 11th. Sunday-night arrivals are our personal favorite for couples — Saturday's tubing crowd is gone by check-in.
